Gems Sensors & Controls designs and manufactures a broad portfolio of liquid level, flow, and pressure sensors, miniature solenoid valves, proximity switches and pre-assembled fluidic systems to exact customer application and manufacturing requirements. Gems Sensors is currently seeing a Sourcing Engineer. The primary responsibilities of the Sourcing Engineer will be on researching requirements in our product drawings, establishing and executing a supplier scorecard, and coordinating audits of suppliers to drive process improvement.
Primary Duties:
" Drive qualification of new suppliers in verifying need for customer/agency approvals and any geographic sourcing limitations
" Drive improvement of supplier performance through a scorecard that measures supplier quality, delivery, and cost
" Lead preferred supplier development through supplier performance audits and supply chain waste identification
" Lead redesign products to remove cost of materials
" Drive regular improvement in materials cost by both qualifying new sources (PPV) and/or working with engineering to redesign and remove cost.
" Drive quality and productivity (team effectiveness and efficiency) improvements using DBS principles.
" Act as change agent to implement constant state of improvement by "doing things differently".

BS degree, technical degree preferred
Experience Required:
3-5 yrs. work experience, procurement experience of 2+ years preferred
