S.A.C. Capital Advisors, LP is a private investment management firm founded by Steven A. Cohen, which (through a predecessor entity) began operations in August of 1992. From its state-of-the-art facility in Stamford, Connecticut and its affiliated offices in New York City, London and Hong Kong, the firm manages a number of private investment funds in long-short equity, quantitative equities and other strategies.
POSITION: Procurement Associate
LOCATION: Stamford, CT
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Interact with business owners, Procurement and other cross-functional teams on a daily basis, understanding their procurement requirements and developing and implementing strategies to meet both short and long-term business objectives.
§ Identify expense reduction/management opportunities and development of strategies to realize those opportunities.
§ Develop and manage supplier relationships with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance.
§ Develop, issue and manage the bid/RFP process for products and services.
§ Negotiate, create and execute contracts with suppliers.
§ Interact with legal to assure contract and supplier compliance.
§ Create and monitor purchase orders in the Procurement system and all associated activities up to payment to the supplier, including the resolution of performance and delivery issues.
§ Lead/assist on various projects

| Desired Skills |
REQUIREMENTS:
§ Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain or finance.
§ Experience in maintenance, repair and operational (MRO) procurement including technology, telecommunications, facilities and business operations products and services.
§ 3+ years procurement/strategic sourcing experience; financial services experience preferred
SKILLS:
§ Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.
§ Supplier relationship management experience including supplier review, selection, negotiation and on-going management.
§ Experience driving, planning, developing and executing category commodity management strategies including category assessment and development of detailed commodity strategy.
§ Experience developing bids, RFI/RFP, negotiation and administration of contracts
§ Understanding of contract structure, terms and conditions as well as contract law.
§ Proficiency with PC software applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
§ Strong verbal and written communication skills
§ Strong data analysis skills/experience
