Description
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning work orders and managing the Supply Chain/Material Control system in support of a designated Production Team.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
"Control and monitor customer and manufacturing order to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, favorable cost savings and increased inventory turns
"Be responsible and accountable for the daily management of the material control system for the designated Production Team and your assigned commodities
"Coordinate production schedule and cell demand schedule with Production Supervisors
"Manage daily interaction with suppliers to achieve a high level of on time delivery performance
"Drive quality and productivity (team effectiveness and efficiency) improvements using DBS principles
"Act as change agent to implement constant state of improvement by "doing things differently"
"Drive correct part plan and increase number of parts on visual replenishment
"Improve on time performance for the designated Production Team through the proactive management of supplier deliveries
"Track root causes for on time delivery and suggest and implement appropriate corrective actions
"Provide delivery dates for overdue customer orders
"Improve inventory turns for designated Production Team
"Implement and resize OEM Kanbans as required
"Assist in the development of new Order Management Process that supports the future state

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
BS degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3-5 years of prior materials procurement including planning and buying
