Job Description Summary This position is responsible for the management of all direct and indirect purchasing functions. Principle Duties & Responsibilities The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work in this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The position may require that employees perform other duties as assigned. 1. Responsible for the daily operations of the Central Purchasing Department and indirectly for the Production Units procurement. 2. Responsible for negotiations of all major contracts. 3. Responsible for identifying training and development opportunities for buyers and planners at TUS, and ensuring that training is completed. 4. Coordinate all Purchasing functions related to the business units. 5. Responsible for documentation and execution of procurement methodology, including data quality, vendor rating, price/invoice controlling, etc. 6. Implement procurement strategies/policies and forecast procurement needs. 7. Coordinate international and domestic multi-functional teams. 8. Set-up and sustain Kanban systems. 9. Manage, coordinate, and update all forecasts to the Supplier base. 10. Coordinate that all Purchasing SAP views are maintained properly. 11. Responsible for communications and activities with Central Purchasing at TW. 12. Responsible for supporting all cost savings projects. 13. Responsible for supporting all R & D projects (according to buying costs) with Engineering 14. Responsible for hazardous waste manifest execution. Completion of training program on DOT regulations regarding the safe and legal transport of materials designated as hazardous, in accordance with 49 CFR 172.704(a) is required
Desired Skills Experience 5 – 8 years previous experience in both direct and indirect purchasing procurement. Both domestic (multi-location) and international experience preferred. Must have excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work as a team player, take initiative, and demonstrate flexibility. Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred. Experience working with lean manufacturing initiatives preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required. Education Bachelors degree in business or related field required. MBA and/or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) preferred.
